The late Jessye Norman described Salvant as“a unique voice supported by an intelligence and full-fledged musicality, which light up every note she sings”.
...for “The Window”, “Dreams and Daggers”, and “For One To Love”, and was nominated for the award in 2014 for her album “WomanChild”.In 2020, Salvant received the MacArthur fellowship and the Doris Duke Artist Award. Nonesuch Records released “Ghost Song” in March 2022, and has since gone onto receive two Grammy Nominations
Salvant has developed a passion for storytelling and finding the connections between vaudeville, blues, theater, jazz, baroque and folkloric music. Salvant is an eclectic curator, unearthing rarely recorded, forgotten songs with strong narratives, interesting power dynamics, unexpected twists, and humor. This performance is supported in part by Hamptons Jazz Fest.

Local to global, soul to punk, jazz and blues, folk, rock, pop and more! The Festival highlights a wide spectrum of roots music and all kinds of fusion. This year will include three days of FREE music at outdoor locations in Sag Harbor Village, offering a wide variety of performances during the Festival weekend. We will present one stand alone evening concert at Bay Street Theater. Save the dates for our best festival yet: Sept. 25-28, 2025

Our ticketed headliners provide once-in-a-lifetime music experiences. We do our best to feature globally recognized stand-out musicians who rarely perform on the East End.
